It was just last month, I saw a bloggie friend's sad post about her dog. She is a super vibrant and gorgeous girl, and I was so sad to read her dog had recently passed away.
And now, I'm writing to let you know that my Doggie Darling has gone too.
My heart is very heavy, and I know a lot of you guys loved seeing her gorgeous big smile when she appeared in my photos. Staffie Dogs always have fun, that's for sure.
Doggie Darling (we think) had a very quick moving brain lesion, or tumour, and lived only 2 and a half years with us, but made Husbie and I so happy and we loved her so much. We'll continue loving her, even though she's gone.
With much sadness,
xoxo

Oh, I am so, so sorry to hear your terrible news. She was a beautiful creature. I swear in some ways it's worse than losing humans. I'm going to go give my staffie dog a big hug now.
ReplyDeleteOh no! So sorry to hear Doggy Darling has gone but happy to know she gave you both so much love and happiness. X
ReplyDeleteSorry for your loss. I hope you you feel better soon. xx
ReplyDeletethat is very sad news. Doggy Darling always made me smile. I'm still sad about every furry friend i've lost. I send you lots of good wishes as you mourn your friend.
ReplyDeleteSorry for your lost...it's a very deep feeling hard to describe how animals make such an important part of my life.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about the passing of Pocket. He was lucky to have you both xxx
ReplyDeleteAnimals leave a huge empty space in our lives when they die... Our little cat was hit by a car 2 years ago and we still think of him every day. But it gets easier as time passes, the happy and beautiful moments remain.
ReplyDeleteIm so very sorry for your loss. I think it's harder losing your dog than people sometimes. Staffy's are the best dogs! Just know you gave Doggie Darling the best life ever, and spoilt it more than anyone else could've.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry! Thanks for letting us know. Cyber hug.
ReplyDeleteOh, Veronica I am so sorry you have lost your beloved Doggie Darling. Yes, I was one of those who loved seeing her big gorgeous smile here on your blog too... Please accept this big virtual hug from me...

Veronica, I am so sorry to hear about Doggie Darling. She always brightened up your photos so much - she had so much love for you! That is sad news. My thoughts are with you.
ReplyDeleteOh Veronica, what devastating news. I am so very, very sorry. Staffies are the greatest dogs ever and you had one of the very best. I'm so glad that she was chosen by you to become a part of your family - you gave her the biggest, brightest, happiest most loved life a dog could have. Her photos and your stories always brightened my day, making me smile and laugh on days I'd rather cry. I feel a bit silly having a little cry over a dog I never met but I know how special dogs are and how they touch our lives. She was and will always be a very special, very loved and very good dog. I wish I was close enough to give you a hug but send all my love instead xx
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. My thoughts are with you and your husbie. Staffies are my favourite and I always loved seeing the photos of your Doggy Darling.
ReplyDeleteHow sad to hear of Doggie Darling's passing. I always enjoyed seeing her happy face on your blog. Hugs to you from me.
ReplyDeleteOh sweetie I am so sorry to hear of your loss, It's very upsetting, I hope you are both okay xxoo
ReplyDeleteAll my love to you and your Husbie on your sad loss xx
ReplyDeleteI'm just gonna have a little cry right now, and give my special whippet boys an extra cuddle tonight. My throat has a big ball in it, and my heart feels heavy for you.
ReplyDeleteOH my poor poor puppy! Its so heartbreaking losing a pet. *HUGS* x100000
ReplyDeleteOh I so very sad for you and your husband right now, losing a dog is losing a big part of your family. I found that coming home to a quiet house instead of the excited thumping a tail was the worst part for many months. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteOh no!!! I am so sorry! Doggie Darling was so special and I'm happy to have gotten to know him even just through your photos! Much love to you both from David and I! xoxoxo

ReplyDeleteThat is terrible news, I am so sorry. She was such a lovely little pup with a beautiful smile.
ReplyDelete:( I can't even imagine how terrible this is for you, my heart goes out to you guys.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about Doggie Darling leaving you both so soon :( But I imagine he had so much fun while he was around considering he lived with you :) I hope you're dealing with it as best you can, and keep on smiling knowing that "all dogs go to heaven."
ReplyDeleteoh, sweetie, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss! It's always very difficult losing a family member and pets are no exception. Thinking of you! *hugs*!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Veronica! This is such terribly sad news. :( I so enjoyed seeing Doggie Darling here. One of the most adorable and smiley dogs ever!
ReplyDeleteAlthough she was only with you a short time, she couldn't have had better parents than you and Husbie. You certainly gave her a full and loving life.
I read your blog, but I don't think I've ever commented. I'm mostly a lurker. But, I'm so sorry for your loss :( As an animal lover, I cannot imagine how you must feel.
ReplyDeleteoh no, i am so very sad for you. i don't really comment much on your blog but i follow you and loved seeing pictures of your Doggie Darling. she was a gorgeous gorgeous girl. like you say, staffies are so much fun and have such wonderful characters. my hubbie and i lost our girl, Mimi, less than a year ago, and the grief was immense for both of us. it is still hard and my heart aches whenever i see a pic of her, but with time the pain does slowly lessen. how sad she only lived 2 1/2 years.. not fair :( big hugs to you both x
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. Dogs can be such a wonderful part of our lives and yet they do leave such big holes in our hearts when they leave us. Doggie Darling was a lucky dog to have had a wonderful home with you and your husband.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about it :( I have to confess one of the things that made me add your blog to my Google reader was her. I loved to see her in the pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh my god I am so so sorry! Staffy's are the best dogs in the whole wide world. Our first was put down due to cancer when I was in year 10 and it was the worst day of my life. We were lucky enough to have 13 years with her. I can't even imagine what it feels like to lose your companion after only 2.5 years. She was a gorgeous dog and brought a smile to my face every time she appeared on your blog. My heart goes out to you and your husband!
ReplyDeleteOH no! That's terrible. *HUGS*
ReplyDeleteSorry about your sweet puppy. :( I will miss seeing her sweet little face.
ReplyDeleteAaah crudo news, I really feel for you guys. My kitty died when he was only a few years old and even thought it was 6 or so years ago it still makes me a bit sad to think about. But sometimes he comes back in dreams which is nice!
ReplyDeleteThat's very sad to hear. Poor you and poor little dog.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear Veronica. I hope Doggie Darling will find her best place up there..
ReplyDeleteOh no, I am so sorry! Poor little Doggie Darling. She was beautiful and I know how much she meant to you. I am so sorry. What a shock.
ReplyDeleteOh! How sad.... :(
ReplyDeleteI have two staffy's and they are my babies. Such beautiful doggies.
I'm sure Doggie Darling is happily running around in the big blue above.
Sitting here in tears over the loss of a dog I'd never met. Please know that seeing Doggie Darling's lovely smiley face often made a crappy day far brighter. Thank you for sharing Doggie Darling with us, my thoughts are with you and your Husbie. Lots of cyber hugs and love.
ReplyDeleteI am so so sorry to hear. My thoughts and heart is with you. So, so sorry. Truly, Denise and I know how you feel- we are both with you now.
ReplyDeleteJust catching up on my RSS feeds and read your very sad news. Strange timing, because a close friend of mine just recently lost her doggie friend too, unexpectedly. These events break my heart, as a pet and animal lover, knowing it is so special to be able to form a close friendship with another species.
ReplyDeleteMy friend (and her husband) took time out to re-assess and think about what really makes her happy in life. They have made some changes based on this, including moving house, to a place where they have more friends within walking distance. Now is a good time to think about happiness and the people who will help you find it again.
And... not now, but in a little while, when the depth of grieving is over, see the film Red Dog. It's a beautiful Aussie film about a how a dog changes a whole town. It will make you laugh AND cry, but you will love it, I'm sure ; )
My condolences on your loss.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for you both. I've been reading your blog for the last few months and your pooch's happy grin always made me smile. I have a staffie too and I know how much love they give you and I can't imagine how happy she was to both have you as her Mum and Dad xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your pup. Many hugs to you and husbie.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear this news, V Darling. Very best love to you.
ReplyDeletei'm just catching up and i'm so sad to hear about doggie darling. her happiness jumped out through the screen whenever she graced your blog.
ReplyDeletethe same thing happened to us with our little layla cat, something a vet sees once in a career, so my heart goes out doubly to you.
