Sound familiar? Maybe you're a bit ambitious. Maybe you like things you see online on the old craft blogs out there. Maybe you cut up heaps of material that 'kinda' looks similar in colour tone, but you're not sure, and you think you're making a quilt for your baby friends.
Here's a few sewn up pieces of a PATCHWORK quilt I've started. It's going to be about a metre wide, and maybe a bit more than that long, and for a baby I love and haven't met yet, but she'll be visiting Australia soon. I thought first up, I'd cut long sections of fabric and sew them up (as you can see here)... with the idea I'd press them with the iron along the way.
Sound right?
I thought after I'd sewn and ironed them all up, I'd get some quilting or padding stuff and freeform stitch it to this sewn up patchwork. That sounds right, right? Right?

Sounds right to me! I made a small quilt a little while ago. It took me forever. Like about 18 months to complete because I kept stopping and starting but now it is awesome! I used a square embroidery that I bought at Spotlight then added strips of pink around it then strips of pink & white patterned material to pretty much just make it into a bigger square. Then I quilted it and bound it and ta-da my first quilt. I also have a boy version of the embroidery so I can make a second one soon because the first has a few mistakes I would like to try and get right on the next one.
